There's so much negativity out in the world. It's hard to remain positive when everyone either brings your down or has ceased having hope. When getting rejection after rejection for job applications,  I just have to get back up and keep at it! So, stay positive, folks!

Now, I'm not so sure that I would recommend doing this out loud unless surrounded by a group of friends as I'm sure you'd get several strange looks, but it does makes you think. Anyone who reads knows that at any moment the plot can change. So, why not apply that to your life? Your life is obviously going to randomly change, and I think it's genius to relate it to a plot twist! If it didn't change, life {and books} would be very boring. Enjoy your plot twists this week!

Following a class assignment to read The Scarlet Letter, Olive finds herself being caught up in a few lies that spread like wildfire, ruining her reputation. What starts as a small white lie to a friend, turns into a bundle of false accounts about Olive's love life. She handles it with some grace, some humor, and a self-sewn A on her newly acquired wardrobe.

Add in her (smokin' hot) childhood crush, a jealous best friend, and a (pre-crazy) Amanda Bynes enemy for a quotastic {yes, we made that word up!} movie.

It's so easy during the holidays to get overwhelmed with everything that has to be done - all the presents that have to be meticulous picked and bought and then mailed, the cards that have to be signed and sent, etc. So, it's not hard to imagine that we get caught up in the power and possessions and prestige that they bring us.

This season, we're challenging ourselves and you to realize where your happiness truly lies - in the ones you love that will always be there, even when the three Ps - power, prestige, and possessions - aren't.

Lately the lack of job has really been getting to me. I'm getting restless and losing hope of finding something. However, my support system helps get me through the days of doubt. They give me words of support and motivation. I need to make myself more of an asset and be more assertive. That's at least what I'm telling myself lately. I need to stay positive!

So, I know that last week my quote had to do with champagne, but I just had to share this one. What's better than champagne? Champagne and sequins! They make life worth living.

Well...not really, but they are pretty awesome and make every day better. And, I totally agree that a smile is a woman's best accessory. A simple smile can change anything!

I have a deep love for champagne and white wine. There are definitely days where nothing I do will make my day better except enjoying a glass of bubbly. There's something about the feeling of the bubbles travelling down my throat that makes everything better. It's perfectly soothing, especially when enjoyed during a bubble bath.

A month into our new healthy lifestyle, and we are still going strong! But, let's be honest - it's hard!!!

Last night, we were just drooling over all the sweets we could imagine - ice cream, pastries, chocolates. You know, all the bad things we shouldn't eat on a regular basis. It is a tough decision to say no to sweets.

Finding a viable job that you might actually want to turn into a long term career is hard and frustrating. It's not as easy as it seems. Gone are the days of applying for a job in person so no one knows how awesome you are. All your worth is now calculated based on a single sheet of paper. How can one get experience if no one is willing to give it?

It's that time of year again where it's socially acceptable to make your house and, well, everything else smell of pumpkins and to eat all the pumpkin things. And, if you don't like pumpkin, we find that fundamentally strange a la Jess from "New Girl." Cassie was in World Market last weekend and was very tempted to buy all the pumpkin things. She settled for Sugar Free Pumpkin Pie Syrup and Pumpkin Chai Tea though since her husband will not help her enjoy all things pumpkin since he doesn't like pumpkin.

I think there is something very truthful and elegant to this quote. Not everything we think we want is meant for us, and there is always a reason for that. It's best to let go and move past that. Every day should be a new day to choose to love and live in a meaningful way. As Cassie and I both like to remind ourselves, every day is a new day to start over. :)

Now, if you grew up with a daddy like mine, you've probably heard something similar to this quote. Whenever anyone did something remotely foolish, he would chime in with a smile on his face, "Don't quit your day job!" Luckily, we knew he was just being a smart aleck and wanted to get a rise out of us.

But, the day I came across this quote, it really resonated with me. It gave me a sense of hope. I mean, everyone's got a daydream, right? Or, if you're like me, you've got several thousand...just ask my husband! So, who's to say you should just give up on it? With hard work, perseverance, faith, trust, and maybe some pixie dust, you can do anything you set your heart on!

Since Mary & I started our healthy life plan, I have gained and lost the same 4 pounds over...and over...and over...and over again. It's been very, very frustrating - to say the least. So, this is has become my daily mantra the past few weeks. Mary knows when I get frustrated to just remind me of this, which I am ever so grateful for, and it helps to get me through the tough days!
So, if you're ever having "one of those days," just remember that you'll get a second chance tomorrow!
