Chick Flick - She's the Man (pre-crazy Bynes)

{via fanpop.com}

This movie is one you can watch over and over again and not get sick of...at all.
It is hilarious, has great quotes, and has an attractive male cast.
Hello, Mr. Tatum!

{via channingtatum-jpg.tumblr.com}

The story is a modern day version of Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare. It follows the story of Viola (Amanda Bynes) as she poses as her brother at his boarding school to prove she would be good enough to make the boy's soccer team, since the girl's program at her school was canceled & they were not allowed on the boy's team.

It's not only amusing to see Amanda Bynes dress and act as a boy, but it is also fun to see her interaction with her roommate, Duke (Channing Tatum). Throw in a debutante ball, some snappy rich girls, an overbearing mother, and a jerky ex-boyfriend and watch the fun unfold!

We highly recommend this movie if you want a good lighthearted film filled with chuckles and eye candy!

We miss this Amanda Bynes.
Someone find her and bring her back!!!

Hump Day Hugs #6

If you like being single, it's okay to admit that. Maybe you like being alone. Maybe you like just dating and hooking up. Guys like these things, and the world has no problem with it.

 {via polyvore}

Okay. I've got to be honest for second, and I think Mary will back me up. I am not a fan of today's topic and that's mainly because I can't offer much advice or insight into it. I've been married for the majority of my twenties, and Mary's been in serious relationships for hers. So, basically, we're really not the people to ask about being single and liking it. We were both born to be Susie Homemakers; not to be single.

As much as I agree with Cassie (we really are meant to be domestic divas), I have to admit that at the time in my early 20s when I was single I had some of the best times of my life. I found out so much about myself and what makes me happy. I would go on impromptu road trips and go out dancing on weekdays. While I have met the right person now and have no desire to be single again, I wouldn't trade those single years for anything. They were so much fun and made for some great memories. If you're single and waiting for the right one to come along, EMBRACE IT!

However, we can both attest to liking our "me time" - where we focus on us and just step away from everything for a little while, like taking bubble baths and getting pedicures.

{via lol so true}

But, we will say this - try to be positive in your single-hood. I know too many times we focused on the negatives of why we were still waiting on the sidelines, but please look on the bright side!
And, if you ever need some motivation to do that, you can always check out Pinterest. They've got some good ones, and we've picked a couple!

And then, you can check out this awesomeness about being single as told by Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Stone, and Rebel Wilson.

If you're single and waiting for the right one to come along, EMBRACE IT! Go for late night dancing on a Tuesday! Go on blind dates! Have fun!

A Book a Day Keeps Reality Away

I love Sophie Kinsella's books, and she did not fail to entrap me in her story this time with Wedding Night. This story follows Lottie, who has every reason to believe her longtime boyfriend, Richard, is about to propose. When his "proposal" wasn't what she expected, Lottie flees into the arms of a past  summer romance from her youth, Ben. Ben more than welcomes the idea of marriage and a quick and rushed process. Rash decisions have attracted the concerns of Lottie's sister, Fliss and Ben's co-worker and friend, Lorcan. They try their best to stop this union. There is laughter and love, and a few twists. I hope you all enjoy it!

This is a beautiful story about first loves getting a second chance. Inglath Cooper spins a wonderful tale about high school sweethearts that never quite got the chance to realize their full potential until later in life. The characters are flawed and interact in a real world environment that isn't fueled by heady romances and unbelievable scenarios. You will get to know these characters and fall in love with them. I was sad when the book ended because I wanted to live in their world of truth.
WARNING: this book will tug at your heart strings!!!

Something Nice to Say

Did you miss us??
We hope so!!
And soon, you and I might be able to coerce Mary into telling us all about her adventures across the pond!

In the meantime, here are this weeks words of wisdom.

{via Pinterest}

I can't begin to describe how true I find this quote. No matter what happened in the past or what we've dwelled on, life keeps going on around us. Life keeps moving on whether we choose to or not. So...embrace it! Move past it!  Life goes on and so do we!

{via sunshine and pearls tumblr}

I had a completely different quote picked out for today, but I changed my mind this morning because this is how I know I'm going to be today. Our AC went out...again so I'm cranky from lack of sleep, & I had to go to Lowe's at six this morning. I feel like that would make a great opening to a joke...or a horror film, you choose - "A woman walks into a home improvement store at 6 a.m."
But, I digress. Some days you know are going to be bad. Or, maybe you know the whole week is going to be terrible. Instead of going for the age old mantra "Grin and Bear It," choose this delightful, lady-like rendition! I know I'll be chanting it to myself all day today! Care to join me?

Help Me. I'm Poor.

Did you guess what our movie is just by our blog title??
Please say you did!!!
If not, here's a picture clue. :)

{via pinterest}

Oh, yes.
We picked Bridesmaids.
Why?
Simply because it's awesome, and everyone should see it with their girlfriends.
Here's why...

Basically, it's got a lot of quotable moments, which gives you even more of a reason to see it. You will be quoting this movie to yourself...to your friends...to strangers. You may also be singing Wilson Phillips and doing a strange dance here and there.

(This movie was one of Rebel Wilson's big breaks)

This movie is just plain brilliant. It's all about the relationships of women when getting ready for a wedding (and in general), and there's a lot of truth to it. Women bring drama, we all know this...but in the end, all bridal parties should be close like this!

Cassie's was!

Oh, and there's a love story in the movie too!

We have to give a forewarning though that this movie is a tad crude -- if you don't like some crude humor, it may not be for you. Imagine a female version of The Hangover -- with less nudity.

Hump Day Hugs #5

It's just me today, ladies and gents! Mary is busy, busy, busy. :)
So, you just get my two cents on the topic.

Many people will try to judge your spending and life style habits, don't let it get to you. It's your life, your money and no one else's business.

 {via i dig your sole man}

Money is a necessary evil, but you deserve to own pretty things because you've worked hard for your money! You should get to use it how you want. I am certainly not condoning spending a whole paycheck in one night out and going broke, but but it's okay to buy a nice pair of shoes every once in a while. Or, that cupcake looks pretty delicious too! The point being...don't be stingy with your earnings.

After all, as I always tell my husband....
